Hopkins office area loops trail (near Minneapolis Marriott Southwest)

If you live or work around here, there are several parking lots in this area but observe private parking signs. Several trail paths and loops to explore. Benches along the trail in some areas to rest or have a snack. A few serious slopes where we decided to dismount and walk. Some fun tunnels. Mostly well paved except for areas near construction work which ended up being closed as of Spring 2020. But still plenty of nice trail and beautiful scenery with ponds and birds.

Bikes and car racks

We love to explore new trails! So we have been driving longer and further out, sometimes on bumpy roads. Wish our car had a hitch! But there are other bike rack options. Trunk mount racks may work for many cars but may cause scratches. Our SUV already had roof bars, so in the absence of a hitch, we settled for a roof bike rack. It was a bit of a struggle with the roof rack at first but now we are used to it. A wide plastic stool that’s high enough to reach the rack without straining is a good idea. We wouldn’t do it if we had heavy bikes or neck/back problems!

Any suggestions?
